Prawda o Ronaldo wyszła na jaw. To dlatego opuścił kadrę Portugalii.
Następnie doszło do spotkania Cristiano, Jorge Jesusa i prezesa portugalskiej federacji Pedro Proençy.
Edu Aguirre: “There was a meeting held yesterday evening, Tuesday, involving the federation president, the coach, and Cristiano Ronaldo. During the meeting, Jorge Jesus asked Cristiano for forgiveness for ignoring and belittling him after making him warm up for 30 minutes without bringing him onto the pitch. Jesus didn’t just apologize to him privately; he also told him that he would apologize publicly during the press conference and admit in front of everyone that he had made a mistake. That was his promise to Cristiano. Then he went to the press conference and told a bunch of lies that nobody believes! That’s why Cristiano exploded… because he felt betrayed. That’s all there is to it. That’s the truth. The coach comes to you privately and says: ‘Look, this is what happened. I understand you. I didn’t handle the situation well. We’re together, forgive me. And if I have a press conference, I’ll explain everything and apologize. Don’t worry, everything will be fine and I’ll sort out the situation.’ Then, just 12 hours later, you go to the press conference and make Cristiano’s situation even worse, while asserting your authority as if to say that you’re the one who makes the decisions and that Cristiano is just another player like everyone else? Go home and do something else! That’s why I say: what happened was a betrayal.”
